Workshops
_Workshops will be offered as weekend enrichment programs, 6-8 week long programs and special summer workshops that may be an intensive week-long workshop. Our workshops will enhance the skills or new and or blossoming artists regardless of age. We will offer demonstrations on various topics, from matting and framing to how to successfully apply for exhibitions. Lectures will occur with various visiting exhibitors that wish to speak about their art-making methods and how they came to be full-time professional artists.
We have new summer classes beginning June 15th. Class listings and registration will be available May 30th. If you would like to volunteer as an instructor, please download this application form. Review the previous class listings, download the Adult and Children's class flyers, and sign up! Mentoring
_Mentoring is an important part of developing any skill set. Our mentoring program will give young children and adults a time to work with other artists who will mentor their development as young artists. A mentoring opportunity will enhance your child’s favorite medium whether it be drawing cartoons, playing with clay, or doodling. These creative acts may break forth to a rewarding career or a simple pastime that brings one joy. Our mentors are professional artists and teachers, college art students in their last years of an art degree, members of the Creative Arts Guild of Mid Michigan, and anyone who is a serious artist, likes working with children and is able to pass a background check for the safety of our children.
We are currently offering a Youth-to-Youth Mentoring Program. Download and complete the application form, and return it to ArtVentures by June 15th, 2012. Young students in need of mentoring can be matched up with artists available in their area of interest. We currently have mentors who work in the following media: Cartooning, Drawing, Digital Imaging, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Watercolor, Clay Modeling and Woodburning |
